In February 2025, we completed an LED garden light project for a customer in Italy, supplying 80 sets of 50W outdoor luminaires for installation around an urban road area. The selected luminaires featured IP65 ingress protection and a five-year warranty, providing a project-oriented solution for long-term outdoor use.

Project Background: Outdoor Lighting for Italian Urban Roads

Why Was IP65 Important for This Project?

Because the luminaires were intended for permanent outdoor installation, protection against environmental exposure was an important part of the product specification.

The supplied luminaires have an IP65 protection rating. Under the IP classification system, this level provides dust-tight enclosure protection and protection against water jets under defined test conditions.

For project buyers, however, IP rating should be evaluated together with the actual installation environment. In coastal Italian locations, for example, waterproofing alone does not establish resistance to salt corrosion; materials, surface treatment and other corrosion-protection requirements should be evaluated separately.
